Certification as a Psychotherapist and Supervisor in Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, since 2005, with training and practice in Evidence Based Models: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Bases Interventions; Interpersonal Therapy; Meaning-Centered Therapy; Cognitive-Narrative Grief Therapy; and Crisis Intervention.

Professional Experience

- Clinical and Health Psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health of the University Hospital of the Algarve, since 2008. Coordinator of the Psychology Unit of the Centro Hospitalar do Barlavento Algarvio, between 2008 and 2011.

- She has been working as a Clinical and Health Psychologist since 1997, developing work with people with emotional and behavioral problems, personality disorders, adjustment problems to chronic diseases and other health conditions and in the context of psychological evaluation in the forensic context.

- Supervisor of Academic and Professional Internships by the Portuguese Psychologists Association.

Academic / Teaching Experience

- Associate Professor and Director of the Psychology Department / Unit of the Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes, in Portimão, since 2009, where she directs the Research Center in Psychology and the 1st Cycle in Psychology and the 2nd Cycle in Occupational Health Psychology.

- She has been a trainer since 1997 in the areas of stress and anxiety, depression, occupational stress management, crisis intervention and mindfulness and acceptance.

- Associated editor of national and international scientific journals. Author and coauthor of about 60 national and international scientific papers and texts.  Received three prizes in Clinical and Health Psychology and one prize of Academic Achievement. Assiduous participation in social media as invited specialist.
