Orthodontics is a specialty of Dentistry that deals primarily with the diagnosis, prevention and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws. The technical term for these alterations is malocclusion, which means "bad bite."

The degree of discomfort has also improved with the introduction of new techniques (Damon, self-ligating Braces - less friction and pressure, therefore greater comfort and the Invisalign “Clear” System).
