14th November is World Diabetes Day.
The HPA Health Group recognizes the importance that this disease has on the health and quality of life of the population.
On the 14th, 15th and 16th of November Screening Tests for the general population, at the Clinica Particular do Algarve, situated at the AlgarveShopping Center between 10am and 8pm.
The screenings include blood glucose and nutritional assessment as well as screening of the feet by a Podiatrist.
A specific training course for health professionals, will be held at the Hospital Particular do Algarve in Gambelas on the 19th of November on the importance of exercise in the treatment of this disease.

The prevalence of diabetes continues to increase. It is estimated that one million Portuguese suffer from this disease, which in turn leads to other conditions such as heart attack, stroke, blindness, amputation or kidney failure.
