Quick Action Insulin begins to act approximately 30 minutes after being administered. It must be injected before meals, according to the carbohydrate intake. To assist with the calculation Eng.Carlos Segundo has developed an application “Cálculo de Insulina Rápida” that calculates the amount of insulin that should be administered.
This calculation is based on Current Glucose Level; Quantity of Carbohydrates in grams to be ingested; Glucose Target; Insulin Sensitivity Factor and Insulin / Carbohydrate Ratio. The APP allows these last three standard factors to be recorded and therefore available for calculation of the next insulin administration.
