What is the importance of the neckline?
Rejuvenating the neckline is very important as the neckline connects the neck to the breasts. The skin is thin and delicate and produces few nourishing and protective elements and may even be one of the first places where aging manifests itself.
The sun is largely responsible for the aging of the neckline although genetic and hormonal factors are always to be considered. For some women it is a much more important zone than the face. A beautiful cleavage, close to the breasts, is a sign of charm and femininity so current trends are going for strong investment in this area of the body.
What can be treated?
The truth is that most women do not expect to have problems in the neckline but it is certain, however, that joviality is also lost here. The skin may become dry, thick and wrinkled (solar elastosis) and “spots” and lentigines will appear. These signs may also appear on the skin of the breasts and on the shoulders.
It is curious to see how after breast surgery women are interested in rejuvenating the neckline! In a strategy to combat and prevent modern aging the cleavage should be included and treated at least once a year.
How do we treat the neckline?
At UP HPA we are keen to follow custom protocols whereby at the same time and at a time, by complementing various techniques, all neckline problems are addressed.
If the skin is ‘broken’ and vertical wrinkles predominate (even in the inter-mammary space) or pigmentation changes the laser and medium peels will be the main options.
If the skin is dehydrated and has poorly marked wrinkles then plasma growth factors and biostimulator fillers (not volumizers!) will be the techniques of choice.
If the lack of tonicity predominates, the vitamins, antioxidants and cell repairers associated with micronedling collagen induction therapy will be the most valid strategy.
Overall the neckline responds well to all these treatments that are safe and relatively quick to perform and do not give rise to significant side effects.
